Wilshire Park's Seventh Annual Halloween Haunt
4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Bronson Avenue between Wilshire and Eighth St.
For the last seven Halloweens, Bronson Avenue has closed the street and throws the single biggest event of the year for all Wilshire Park residents and their friends. Every year, it gets better and better, and this year promises to be the best one yet.
As usual, this is an all-volunteer effort, relying on the enthusiasm of the hosts and participants. Council District 4 gets us all our permits and road signs gratis. Residents deliver flyers, decorate, open their yards for games and contests, contribute candy, food, labor and cash. And everyone who attends is part of the fun. It is in many ways the best way to meet your neighbors. And our children will remember this fondly for decades, and do it for their own children.
Also as usual, we need all the help we can get. This is the single fund-raiser that Wilshire Park has been sponsoring for several years, and the income from this one brief night needs to support the Wilshire Park Association for the entire year. It has to cover printing, insurance, a mailbox, a website, venue rental, and any unforeseen projects or emergencies. It has to be a success.
